DAMS drivers Pierre Gasly and Alex Lynn both say they have confidence for the second half of the season.

The French team had its best weekend of the season in Budapest scoring 49 points, only one shy of ART’s record this season which was set in Bahrain.

Alex Lynn secured his first pole position of the season by beating Stoffel Vandoorne to top spot by just 0.019 seconds.

His electric pace was converted into a maiden Feature Race victory on Saturday afternoon and the day was made even sweeter for DAMS as Pierre Gasly picked up his first piece of silverware with second place. This was the team’s first ever 1-2 in GP2.

“My first pole position, my second victory but this time in the feature race, it was an incredible Saturday!” Lynn said.

“I’ve got absolute confidence in the team and our rivals will have to watch out for us in the closing stages of the season.”

Lynn’s team mate had similar observations about his weekend and the rest of the season.

“Overall, it’s been a very good weekend. I’m very happy to have given the team another top-three finish as they really deserve it.

“It’s given me even more confidence for the rest of the championship.”

Lynn and Gasly lie fifth and sixth in the Drivers’ Standings respectively.
