The first day of post-season testing saw ART’s Nobuharu Matsushita fastest in both the morning and afternoon sessions.
The first half hour of testing was the usual case of drivers setting installation laps and making sure everything was running smoothly on their machinery. Nobuharu Matsushita went fastest soon after the initial formalities but was almost beaten by Oliver Rowland who made the switch to ART for this first day of testing.
Norman Nato took over second place in the standings from Rowland but Alex Lynn soon got ahead of the pair and sat only two tenths behind Matsushita.
One red flag interrupted the morning session and it was courtesy of Sean Gelael driving for Campos. The Indonesian driver hit the barrier at turn 19 and was unable to put his car in a safe place.
In the afternoon Jordan King set the early pace but it was Matsushita who came out on top once again. Richie Stanaway driving for Carlin had his time at the top but it was the Japanese driver who had the better of his rivals today.
Day two of testing gets underway at 12:00 local time.
