Grand Prix winner Olivier Panis has told Motorsport.com that ART boss Frederic Vasseur would “do the job” at the Renault F1 Team.
Vasseur has been tipped to become the Team Manager at Renault next season when the deal to takeover the Lotus F1 Team is finalised.
“Frederic Vasseur would be a good manager,” Panis told Motorsport.com.
“In French motorsport, most people talk about the super drivers and the super teams, but there are also super team managers such as him, Jean-Paul Driot, Simon Abadie, Hugues de Chaunac…
“These people have managed racing teams for a long time and have won several titles. I don’t know what would be Vasseur’s position in the team, but it would be extraordinary for French motorsport. He can do the job.”
Vasseur has been in charge of the ART Grand Prix squads in GP2 and GP3 since 2005 and 2010 respectively and his team also competes in DTM and Formula Renault 2.0.
