GP2 team Lazarus could make the switch over to Formula Renault 3.5 next season, Autosport.com has reported.
After recently announcing that the team would leave GP2 at the end of the season and have its entry replaced by Prema, Lazarus is to join a “major single-seater series” in 2016.
“We are again evaluating an involvement in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe with one car, a Grand Touring championship where we will use our brand new Huracan GT3 car,” Lazarus Team Principal Tancredi Pagiaro told Autosport.
“As well as a major single-seater programme in a racing series that will be announced and specified later this year,” he concluded.
Formula Renault 3.5 is a likely series for Lazarus as the championship gets rebranded over the winter after Renault’s announcement that it would depart.
