Three drivers have been handed penalties for overtaking under safety car conditions in the Sprint Race at Sochi.

Arthur Pic – who started on pole position – finished the race in eighth place but was deemed to have overtaken when the safety car came out on the opening lap. Five seconds were added to the Campos drivers’ race time and he dropped to P13.

Mitch Evans was promoted to eighth as a result and picked up the final point on offer.

Sergio Canamasas and Sergey Sirotkin were also deemed to have committed the same offence and they dropped to P17 and P21 respectively.

Today’s race winner Richie Stanaway escaped without a penalty after it appeared he overtook Rio Haryanto on the penultimate lap when the safety car was deployed.
