Jordan King will be starting the Sprint Race from the pit lane after being penalised by the GP2 stewards.
King collided with Marlon Stockinger at turn two on the opening lap of the race and lost his front wing and gave the Status driver damage. Both would crash independently one corner later and retire from the race.
The penalty handed to King was a three place grid penalty but because he can’t serve all places of the penalty, he will instead start from the pit lane in the Sunday Sprint Race.
It was a mixed day for Racing Engineering after King’s crash and Alexander Rossi’s third win of the season.
