Markelov loses top ten finish

Artem Markelov has lost his top ten finish he achieved in today’s Sprint Race after being penalised by the GP2 stewards.

The Russian left the circuit at the second chicane and when he rejoined, made contact with Julián Leal. Five seconds were added to Markelov’s race time which dropped him from P9 to P14. Alex Lynn moves up to to top ten having started in the pit lane.

Further penalties were applied to Jordan King and Robert Visoiu. King received a five place grid drop for the next race and Russia for hitting Norman Nato at the race start and Visoiu was awarded the same penalty for ending Alexander Rossi’s race.
