Arthur Pic and Oliver Rowland have been handed penalties by the stewards following separate incidents in the Silverstone Feature Race.
Campos driver Pic was given a 20 second time penalty after he caused an avoidable collision with Jordan King which resulted in the Briton retiring from his home event just metres from the finishing line on the last lap. Pic’s penalty drops him from P6 on the road to P14.
Debutante Oliver Rowland finished the race inside the points in P9 but the race the stewards decided that the British MP Motorsport driver left the track at Copse corner numerous times. Five seconds were added to Rowland’s race time which dropped him a position to tenth.
A “zero tolerance” approach is being taken by race stewards about track limits this weekend.
After all of the penalties were applied, Rio Haryanto was classified in eighth place and will start the Sprint Race from pole position.
