Daniël de Jong will continue with MP Motorsport for a third season having been confirmed today.
The Dutchman made his debut in the Series in midway through the 2012 season and finished inside the top ten in only his second race with Rapax. A permanent drive in GP2 came at the start of 2013 when MP Motorsport – a team owned by de Jong’s father, Henk – joined the Series.
de Jong has struggled to make an impact during his time in GP2 having only amassed five points overall. However, with DRS being introduced to the racing this year he is hopeful to get into a winning stride.
Vittorio Ghirelli will partner de Jong in the pre-season test in Abu Dhabi which gets underway tomorrow.
