Marco Sørensen has announced that he will be driving in GP2 this season.
Sørensen revealed the news that he is to continue in GP2 for a second season on his Instagram account on Wednesday morning. He became the first Danish driver to score a race victory in the Series when he won the Sochi Sprint Race towards the end of last season.
The team Sørensen will be driving for this year will be revealed later this month but he told Autosport that it will be a “top team”.
Alongside GP2 commitments, the 24-year-old has joined Aston Martin’s GT junior programme which will see Sørensen drive in all eight races of the 2015 World Endurance Championship, including the prestigious 24 Horus of Le Mans in June. None of the events clash with the GP2 calendar.
The Aalborg born driver also revealed that his personal sponsor Saxo Bank will continue to back him until the end of 2015. The Danish investment bank has supported Sørensen since January 2014.
