Raffaele Marciello has dedicated his podium finish in the Sochi Feature Race to his good friend and fellow Ferrari Driver Academy member Jules Bianchi.

Marciello finished the Feature Race in third position just 1.9 seconds ahead of rival Arthur Pic but a lengthy 14.3 seconds behind second place driver Mitch Evans.

“I’m really pleased to have been on the podium for Jules. I wanted to do it for him so I’m very happy.” Lello told gp2series.com after the race.

“It’s quite a hard time but we have to go on and I really wanted to make that podium for him. This was also for Andrea [Marciello’s trainer] as they were together from 2007 and Andrea came here for me this weekend even though he’s feeling sad, so I wanted to make him happy and do this for Jules.”

Bianchi – who was injured in the Japanese Grand Prix – remains in a critical but stable condition at Mie General Hospital in Japan.
