Conor Daly has announced on Twitter that he will not be contesting the GP2 weekend in Monza.

The 22-year-old American driver said he is being replaced by Venezuela GP Lazarus due to “lack of funding”.

Daly joined Venezuela GP Lazarus at the start of the season and has finished in the top ten three times in machinery which is not top standard. Prior to this he contested the first event of the 2013 season where he scored points in his second race.

Daly is an alumnus of the GP3 Series in which he secured two race wins with ART Grand Prix.
