Takuya Izawa and Adrian Quaife-Hobbs have both been handed penalties for separate incidents in today’s Sprint Race.
The ART Grand Prix driver’s penalty was for causing a collision with Arthur Pic in the closing stages of the race. Izawa was deemed to have cut directly on to the line which Pic had right to. Izawa’s penalty is of five grid places for the Germany Feature Race in two weeks.
Quaife-Hobbs’ penalty is for a different matter. The British driver abused track limits on numerous occasions which – in the eyes of the stewards – allowed him to gain an unfair advantage. 20 seconds were added to the Rapax driver’s elapsed race time which drops him down five places from his original finishing position of P10.
