A new award for drivers competing in GP2 has been announced.
The Sparco High Performance Trophy will be awarded at the end of the European season with the aim of paying compliment to the rising stars of the Series.
A number of F1 journalists will individually vote for a driver based on competitiveness and sportsmanship after each of the European events and the driver with the most votes after Belgium will receive the accolade in Italy.
Jolyon Palmer gathered the most votes after Monaco and Raffaele Marciello took the honours after Austria having gained two podium finishes in the two races.
Starting from Silverstone, fans can get involved in the voting at Sparco’s Facebook page and a driver will receive a fan award at the end of the season.
